October 2023 saw the debut of Forza Motorsport . For the first anniversary of the title, Turn 10 Studios are celebrating with the release of Update 13 which is themed around Mustang Month.

Forza Motorsport turned one year old on the 10th of October, 2024. However, it has been far from plain sailing for the flagship motorsport title on Xbox as many players had hoped for more. That did not keep the team from releasing monthly updates, and this time it is all about celebrating with lots of free content for players and a fresh new update coming ‘Next Week’.

Free content For Mustang Month

The content comes as a bit of a surprise with the theming around one specific manufacturer and model, the Ford Mustang. Each player will be able to claim all three 2024 versions of Ford’s iconic muscle car from the in-game showroom. The cars in question are:

  • 2024 Ford #25 Mustang RTR
  • 2024 Ford #88 Mustang RTR
  • 2024 Ford #130 Mustang RTR

One of the three Ford Mustangs available for free in the showroom.

It would have been nice to see a bit more variety in these three free cars, but it is free content for all players and that is always something to appreciate.

For those players who own the Car Pass, you can look forward to an additional bonus car in this new update. The 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse can be yours if you either own or buy the Forza Motorsport Car Pass, Deluxe Edition, Premium Edition or Premium Add-Ons Bundle.

These new cars will be released with the rest of the Mustang Month content on Thursday, October 17 at midnight UTC. These new Mustangs are not the only additions for this update, however.

Ford Mustang included in the Mustang Month update.

One for the hardcore Forza fans; Sunset Peninsula is due to make its long-awaited return after last appearing in Forza Motorsport 4! This classic addition to Forza’s track roster is a fantastic circuit that will undoubtedly fit in perfectly in single-player and multiplayer modes.

Forza Motorsport’s Update 13 also introduces a new ‘Drift Mode’, new options for Practice and Qualifying in Private Multiplayer races and additional upgrades for Forza Race Regulations. These updates, excluding the new drift mode, are quality-of-life changes. However, they are probably necessary for the current playable state of Forza Motorsport if it is to succeed heading into 2025.
